Give your clothing closet an easy face lift:

Return ugly metal hangers to the drycleaners for recycling. Replace with good quality, heavy, plastic hangers. One color ONLY. One color encourages uniformity…easy to put away, easy to retrieve.

Hang clothes on NEW hangers. This fresh new look may even inspire you to work on other organizing projects.

(Wal-Mart and Target sell a good selection of heavy hangers. If you’re looking for something a little higher end, check out http://www.clotheshangers.com)

Throw away old make-up is a great tip. I know I need to do it, but I can’t let go! I’ll just have to focus on all the bacteria that’s probably hanging out there, and maybe that will inspire me to go ahead and trash it :)

  3. Peggy says:

the mail tip…..having mail all over the place gives me anxiety, I need to organize a bit more

  5. Barbara Scaff says:

We TRY to do this but it is so true, make your bed everyday….it really helps get the day started and relaxes you at night.

  6. Cleaning out the Linen Closet

Sheets and towels that sit, tend to sour. Bleach will not remove this odor, one cup of white distilled vinegar added to a load of laundry will.

  7. Jennifer Mae Hiles says:

They are all great tips. I wish I was home right now to do them! I really like the clean out the make up drawer. There are so many containers of old make up that I will never use that I need to get rid of!

  8. barbara tryon says:

The tip I like is to sort the mail because i always get it all piled up, this I am gonna do!

  9. I love the closet orgainzation ideas. They make you think. I’m always trying to get rid of stuff I’m so OCD when it comes to clutter.

Spend five minutes dealing with the mail everyday instead of letting it pile up

  17. Jeff Legg says:

My favorite is getting rid of the Time Thief of the mail by sorting thru your mail at the shredder and deal with it right then, don’t pile it on the desk.

Children’s Art Boards All those art projects! All those GREAT grades! The refrigerator can only hold so many Renoir’s. Framed Cork boards, white boards, or just plain cork squares are a GREAT solution for displaying these precious creations. These colorful pieces of art deserve a spot of fame. Include them in the laundry room, for everyone to enjoy.

  20. corey says:

Get the kids involved – that’s my favourite I guess.

  21. Joyce Raymond says:

I had to laugh at the “keep or go ” closet organizer, especially when they say ” will it fit before it goes out of style”. I needed that, because I hate to give away something I love just because it doesn’t fit! Yes, I’ve been the same weight and size for 10 yr. yet I still think I’m going to magically become something I’m not.
