CCIE Cisco Certification Exam

A Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert is one of the most advanced levels of certification offered by Cisco. In 2010 there were over 25 thousand people in the entire world that held active CCIE certifications and less than 3% of certified professional’s achieve CCIE certification. It is recommended that the candidate possesses at least 3-5 years of networking experience before attempting a CCIE certification.

The exams consist of a written exam and a lab exam. It costs a fee of $350 to take the written portion of the exam and you must have completed this before attempting the lab exam. There are 100 questions on the written portion and you are given 2 hours to complete it. After passing this exam you have a window of eighteen months to prepare for the lab portion of the exam. If you happen to be unsuccessful at your first attempt at the lab exam, then the student has around three years from the completion date of the written lab was finished to complete and pass the lab exam. The fee for each CCIE lab charges approximately $1500 per try and they only offer this and ten select Cisco lab locations around the world.
